With twenty-three years as a change management facilitator in education and seven years of experience as a management systems evaluator in the independent school sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role. My background in system management analysis involves assessing business management systems by comparing vision, mission, and values with actual outcomes and implemented practices. In each instance, it was evident that the incidents took them by surprise, resulting in significant reputational damage. These occurrences often stemmed from unintended actions that could have been mitigated through the implementation of essential strategies to raise management awareness and establish structured preventative measures.

In 1994, I assumed the role of principal at the highly politically charged Hendrik Verwoerd High School, which was in decline, operating at just twenty-five percent of its capacity due to internal conflicts and severe reputational damage in the community.
Over the subsequent 23 years, the school underwent a remarkable transformation from a renowned apartheid institution to a highly successful, integrated, multicultural South African school. This achievement culminated in my receipt of the Kader Asmal Award for Excellence in Education in 2017.
I played a pivotal role in two provincial bargaining committees that were instrumental in transitioning the old South African Education system into the new South African Education system. Notably, the school pioneered the establishment of only the second Hotelkeeping and Catering facility in a South African school, resulting in Mrs. Florette le Roux being recognized as the best high school teacher in South Africa during the National Teachers Awards.
The school gained international acclaim and forged strong ties with the American Embassy in South Africa, leading to the establishment of the Ralph Bunch Resource Center. This collaboration also gave rise to an international online discussion forum involving schools in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Germany, supported by IBM, aimed at nurturing leaders with a global perspective. The initiatives extended to exchange visits between our school and Charlotte, annual visits by American university research groups, and the school's participation in a United Nations green initiative conference in New York.
Between 1994 and 2005, I played a key role in the unification and transformation of school sports and cricket in South Africa. Serving as the inaugural joint chairperson of the South African United School Sports Association in Gauteng and as the treasurer of the South African Schools Cricket Association for 12 years, I also held an executive position at the Northern Titans Cricket Union for a decade. During this tenure, my responsibilities encompassed cricket development, youth cricket, and the establishment of the cricket academy at the Northern Titans Cricket Union.
